Week 12 in review: Realme GT Neo3 and Redmi 10C debut, Nothing confirms phone (1) and Nothing OS
After a few announcement-heavy weeks, things got a little calmer in week 12. Nothing announced its plans to become an ecosystem rival to the likes of Apple with its phone (1) set to release sometime this summer. Carl Pei also announced Nothing OS Launcher which will be the company’s Android skin and which will be available for other Android devices to test out come April.
Realme debuted its GT Neo3 powered by MediaTek’s new Dimensity 8100 chip and blazing fast 150W charging which is the speediest commercially available option at the moment, promising a 50% charge in a mere 5 minutes. The new device also comes in a version with 80W fast charging and both share the same 6.7-inch 120Hz AMOLED display and 50MP main cam. Realme GT Neo3 150W starts at CNY 2,599 ($408) while the 80W model is priced at CNY 1,999 ($314).
Xiaomi announced its Redmi 10C - another affordable midranger with the Snapdragon 680 chipset, 50MP main cam and a 5,000 mAh battery. Oppo sneaked in a new budget Android 11 option with its A16e. OnePlus 10 Pro is going global on March 31 after a long delay from its initial launch in China back in January.
Samsung is expected to announce three new foldable phones later this year with new entries in the Galaxy Z Fold and Z Flip entries joined by an all-new device rumored to come with a scrollable screen similar to Oppo’s X 2021 concept. The long-rumored Xiaomi 12 is now expected to launch in China in May.
We got our first major look at the alleged iPhone 14 Pro design with its dual punch hole cutouts and thicker body expected to go live this fall.
LG announced its latest Gram laptops with 12th gen Intel CPUs and Nvidia RTX 2050 GPUs while Dell silently updated its XPS 15 and XPS 17 with the same 12th gen Intel CPUs and up to Nvidia RTX 3060 GPUs.
