Week 47 in review: Vivo's X90 series, Honor's 80 and Oppo's Reno9 series debut
Another week down, this one culminating in some Black Friday madness, so let's recap. Vivo unveiled the X90 series, starting with China. The vivo X90 Pro+, X90 Pro, and X90 share a lot of similarities but also some differences - the flagship X90 Pro+ has a 50.3MP 1.0-inch type main camera, a 64MP 90mm 3.5x zoom, a 50mm 2x zoom, and a 48MP ultrawide, as well as a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. The X90 Pro shares the 1.0-inch type main camera and 2x tele but lacks the 90mm zoom, and has a 12MP ultrawide. Both the X90 Pro and X90 use the Dimensity 9200. Both also pack a 120W wired charging. We're eagerly awaiting international availability.
Oppo's Reno9 series also arrived this week with a similarly-sounding roster to the vivo - Reno9, Reno9 Pro, and Reno9 Pro+. The Pro+ has a Snapdragon 8= Gen 1 and a triple camera, while the Reno9 Pro has a Dimensity 8100-Max, and the Reno9 has a Snapdragon 778G. All three phones will launch in China on December 2 with international availability coming later on.
Honor's 80 series are also official with the Honor 80 Pro, Honor 80, and Honor 80 SE. The Honor 80 Pro and 80 have 160MP main cameras and Qualcomm processors - the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 for the Pro, and Snapdragon 782G for the vanilla.
Speaking of the Snapdragon 782G, it was made official this week too. It's basically a Snapdragon 778G+ with a 200MHz faster CPU, promising a 5% bump in processing, and 10% bump in graphics.
There are a lot of Black Friday deals going on, including laptops, smartwatches, gaming peripherals, phones, headphones, tablets, and cameras. And, Cyber Monday is coming tomorrow, so keep an eye out for new deals on GSMArena.com!
It's powered by the Snapdragon 695 SoC and features a 50MP primary camera with OIS.
The cameras use Zeiss know-how throughout. Also, there is a roomy 6.78" LTPO 4 display on the front, plus a fast-charging battery inside.
A design similar to the good old iPhone 5C might be in the works.
Honor 80 is the first phone announced with the Snapdragon 782G chipset.
It brings a 5% CPU improvement and 10% better graphics performance over the Snapdragon 778G+.
The device is equipped with the Dimensity 700 SoC and brings a single 50MP camera.
The new chipset shows about 30% higher performance than its predecessor.
Only 2,000 units will be sold in Europe.
The quad-cam is headlined by a 1” sensor.
Both the Pro and Pro+ have 16 GB RAM as a base option.
Both phones are already on pre-order in China.
Developers are expected to switch from APKs to AABs for storage optimization.
The main one will use Sony's 1-inch IMX 989.
You can pick up the new Z Fold4 with a healthy discount or get the older Z Fold3 with a free The Freestyle projector (worth $800 normally).
The phone is powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset.
The lineup was unveiled last week in China.
Honor's latest interface overhauls the visual aspects of the OS while also adding new features.
It lands hours after the S20 FE first got its taste.
Each prism is responsible for movement on one axis. Combined they can tilt +/-16° on one axis and +/-20° on the other. This system also handles OIS.
Here's the latest special edition of the Asus ROG Phone 6.
These phones are the company's newest flagship devices, announced earlier today.
Just like the Tab S8 FE, the new Fan Edition slate will opt for an LCD instead of a Super AMOLED. It will use a Wacom digitizer for the stylus.
This is likely the last major Android update for the S20 FE which launched with One UI 2.5 in 2020.
The Korean company's rollout shows absolutely no signs of slowing down.
The smartphone carries a similar model number, scores significantly lower.
